What are Idle Fees?
An idle fee is an additional charge in addition to the standard charging fee applicable at a charging station that applies to EVs that stay parked in a charging bay beyond their completed charging session.
When does the Idle Fee start?
Idle fees start when a charging session or transaction is completed. This is indicated when the charging is stopped by either the EV, or when the transaction is stopped via the Stop Charging button on the app. When charging is ended by the EV, a notification is shown stated the charging session is 'Completed' or 'Suspended'.
Do I have time to move my vehicle before the Idle Fee starts?
Yes. A grace period is granted upon the end of a charging session before Idle Fees start applying. This varies between locations and is clearly stated on the Charging Point connector details on the app.
How do I know if my vehicle is 'idling' ?
A notification is pushed to your app before the Idle Fees start. The alert is also shown on the 'Charging in Progress' page on the app
Are my charging fees and idle fees stated clearly in my bill?
Yes. The charging and idle fee duration and amount are clearly stated in the Charging History page on the chargEV app.
