What are Guest Payments?
"Guest Payments' or "Guest Charging" is a feature that enables users to access and use chargEV owned and operated stations in Singapore without having to sign-up for an account with a phone number or email address.
This feature is designed for those who need EV charging once a while or as a quick start option without going through the whole sign-up process.
How to charge with Guest Charging?
- Access the chargEV app and select the option to Continue as Guest on the welcome screen
- Select a location and choose your desired chargepoint
- Tap Continue as Guest
- Enter your billing information and Continue; this information is required for the issuance of your transaction invoice
- You will be prompted to add your payment card (debit/credit/prepaid card) used to pay for charging
- Once this is completed, tap the Start Charging button the app to start charging
Can I view my charging history in Guest Charging?
Yes, charging history can be viewed in-app in the charging history page by selecting More > Charging History. Here, you can also download your charging invoice. These records will remain in the app until the point it is uninstalled. Users must ensure all invoice records and downloaded before performing an uninstall of the application to not lose this data.
What information is required for Guest Charging ?
To receive your charging record and invoice, please input your name and billing address when prompted before the Start Charging process.
How are payments done for Guest Charging?
Payments for Guest Charging use a credit/debit/prepaid card saved during the first Start Charging process. To ensure a secure and efficient billing, a pre-authorization amount of SGD 50.00 will be applicable for Guest Payments.
What is pre-authorization for Guest Charging?
Before starting your charging session, this temporary pre-authorization amount will be placed on your card to confirm its validity and ensure sufficient funds. This prevents payment issues, ensuring a smoother charging experience. If this amount is reached, your charging session will automatically stop.
After your charging session is successfully completed, any balance amount from the pre-authorization will be automatically released immediately and is not kept by chargEV. You will only be charged the final amount as stated in your charging history.
For transparency, you will receive a notification of the pre-authorization amount and the final charge after each session. A notification will also be sent when the estimated charging amount is close (90%) to reaching the pre-authorized amount; indicating that the charging session may be stopped soon.
